WILD, WILD WOMEN First rehearsal 10th January, Audition date 22nd January.

Wild, Wild Women features everything from a Maria Von Trapp style Nun on roller skates to a bitter and heartless old French Madame whose only thing to look forward to is the Chinese laundry (man!)
Below, I hope to give you some information on the show and the plot behind it.
It follows loosely the story of Romeo and Juliet, in the guise of Robert and Jane (do you see what they did there?!) 2 lovers, who because of their feuding families cannot live and love happily together, however...unlike Romeo and Juliet, Jane decides that she cannot go on hiding their love anymore and dresses Robert as "Roberta" so their relationship can seem "normal" in public.

Set in the wild west in the town of Agroville, with a background to Romeo and Juliet and tells the story of two feuding families and a singing nun with a guitar, who gets shot by a stray bullet from one of the families, on her death bed she dramatically recruits the wives of the town into carrying on her cause to bring 'JOY’ to the town and to end all the fighting, reluctantly they all agree and go to work trying to end the feud, they soon realize that the only way to stop the men from fighting is to withhold love making from them, but this just opens the door to Madam Lola's whore house and her "Soiled Doves".
The most influential women of the town hold a meeting and all are agreed that there will be no more love making or foreplay from them until the fighting has stopped and peace has returned to Agroville.
Present at this meeting is newlywed Myrtle, she has been married under a week and can't get enough of her “Clint”, she is more than reluctant to join the strike, but is pressured into it by her mother in law, the feisty Mrs McLaird.
The Men in turn hold their own meeting at the towns social club, however patience wears thin and the boys get itchy feet, so the Hanging' Judge (who has never hung anyone) tells them of times gone by, when there were never any women present at the socials and shows the boys just how it’s done with each other....ICLEARLY mean dancing. However, just as the men get into line dancing with each other, Madame Lola and her Soiled Doves enter and catch them and give them more than good reason to head on over to the Red Candle Salon, where the "Beds are soft, but they wont be"

Hearing of this, Alice (Who is the leader of the love strike) head straight over to the Red Candle Salon and sets about the task of breaking down the hard hearted Madame Lola, but she proves to be a tough cookie to crack and wearing her down is not so easy, she has never heard of the story of Romeo and Juliet, so in good old fashioned cheesy musical style the towns folk set the scene and rein act an abridged version of the tragedy for her.
Moved by this, she finally agrees to join the strike, thinking that she would go down in history, which she exclaims is "The One place I have always wanted to go down!" The men can no longer win, they are defeated, with nowhere else to turn, they return to their wives and peace is brought to the town.

I have left out some bits that fit in the middle of the show, like the story of Myrtle and Clint, and what actually happens to Jane and Robert, but I hope from what is written above, you should be able to get some sort of idea about the hilarity of the show. It is a short show and should run no longer than 2 hours!
